Wait at least 72 hours after e-filing or 4 weeks after mailing your return.


Where’s my IRS amended return?

This link will take you to the IRS website where you can find information on the status of an amended return. Please wait at least three weeks after you mail it in. Click here and have the following information ready:

  • primary taxpayer’s social security number
  • primary taxpayer’s date of birth
  • zip code

Where’s my Alabama Refund?

This link will take you to Alabama’s website. Once there, look toward the center of the page under “Individual” and click on “Where’s My Refund.” You do not have to create an account. Click here and have the following information ready:

  • primary taxpayer’s social security number
  • refund amount
